Bordering the eastern side of world renowned Etosha National
Park, Onguma is one of Namibia's best kept secrets. Here you will
experience Africa in all her beauty and diversity. A newly
built short road runs directly next to Namutoni Gate and leads to
Onguma Ranch only 9 kilometres away. The Ranch boasts over thirty
different animal species. Plains game including kudu, giraffe,
eland, oryx, hartebeest, zebra, impala and many more that roam
freely on the farm. Predators such as lion, cheetah, leopard
and other are common residents of the area. The latest
addition to the already abundant wildlife at Onguma is a family of
black rhinos introduced to the area recently. More than 300 bird
species can also be viewed at Onguma. During the Namibian summer
months our ranch becomes a bird-watcher's paradise with thousands of
species migrating to wetlands created by the seasonal rains and
ephemeral river systems. Or you can enjoy a variety of activities at
Onguma - from bird watching to walking trails and game drives. We
also offer day trips to Etosha, barely twenty minutes away from our
ranch. In addition, Africa's Bushmen are represented at Onguma
by the Haikum San community. Their ancient skills and bush craft are
evident in the ways our guides operate.
You can choose accommodation in our exclusive tented camp. The tents
are built on raised wooden decks and afford a breathtaking view of
the Etosha Pan.
